Where to stay in Rome?

Generally speaking the cost of accommodation in Italy has risen in recent years, unless it is for a hostel. We usually book room in an apartment with shared bathroom and kitchen, which is quite common in Italy.

For your stay we would recommend the train station area where you will find reasonable prices and of course it is quite close to the center.

colosseum rome

How to Move in Rome

Just walk! It’s the best way to hang around and not lose any point of interest, depending on the days you are planning to stay of course. Alternatively, you can use the metro system with its large enough network (7-days ticket €24).

Extra tips: Always check the operating hours of the metro and any closed stations due to maintenance reasons. They don’t accept cards everywhere. Beware of taxis.

Our favourite place in Rome

Actually it’s not one, but two!

The first one is the Vatican city. This particular place, so controversial and timeless.
The second one is the district of Trastevere, a very urban, artistic and youthful region, with amazing small shops that serve beers and pasta, wines and of course plenty of italian pizzas! Happy Hour’s favorite time usually between 18.00-20.00 when you get to drink your wine and enjoy dinner from a delicious Italian buffet, for free!

For those of you who will decide to take a longer trip to Italy, this is usually something that most travellers do actually when visiting Italy, check out our blog posts about Milan, Genoa, Venice, etc for travel ideas, inspiration and a higher dose of Italian refinement!
Ciao Ragazzi!
